I am not a fan of the color pink, I'll just open with that. I am also not a fan of dressing girly or acting girly. My best friend, however, thrives on the princess lifestyle.
I am going to dedicate this post to her.
Her name is Kailey.

Kailey has been my best friend since our freshmen year of high school; we are now seniors! 4 years may not seem long, but given the amount of bull shit drama that happens in high school, 4 years is practically an achievement!
I could tell a lot of stories about Kailey, but they would all prove one of a few points:
- Kailey loves life, pink, and Disney.
- Kailey loves her friends and family.
- Kailey loves music, Facebook, and texting.
- Most important, Kailey loves being a princess.
If you sum it all up, Kailey has a big heart. :)
She turned 18 on Saturday!! Which means, technically she's all grown up. But anyone that knows anything about Kailey knows that she is still a little kid at heart. I decided to celebrate the little kid living in Kailey for her birthday.
On Saturday, I took her to see Tangled. ADORABLE. I'm pretty sure she cried the whole time.
Sunday, after a sleepover, I proceeded to kick her out of her own house. Her crazy boyfriend, his name is Luis, picked her up and took her to lunch while Kailey's mom and sister, (Mama Chow and Sister Chow, for future reference), and I decorated the house with pink streamers and balloons, filled goody bags, and prepared snacks.
Then, all of Kailey's closest friends arrived! I had instructed everyone to wear pink and dress like a kid, so very soon, there was a house full of 17 and 18 year old's that looked like they were ready for first grade. While waiting for Kailey to get back from lunch, we colored "Happy Birthday" signs and hung them up.
Kailey arrived, and I think she was very shocked to see all of us dressed in so much pink. Especially because many of us do not like pink at all. Then, the party took off!
We played "Pin the Crown on Kailey," a unique variation of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey." We also played Pretty, Pretty Princess and Candy Land, and watched Disney movies.
Then, we busted out Twister, and Tuba Ruba. If you are curious about Tuba Ruba, you can read all about it here on my friend's awesome blog. (Hint: click on the word "here")
Bottom line is, we may be big kids, but we had a lot of fun pretending to be children again, and we have Kailey to thank, for reminding us that we all still have a little kid in us :)
I dedicate this blog to Kailey, hope you stay young forever love!
I love this blog. And I love Kailey.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love YOUUUUUU!
Yayyy!! :) I think we should just keep posting links to each other's blogs in all of our posts. Then, if one of us gets some sort of popularity, the other will too! xD
ReplyDeleteI'm crying...Thanks Mellie :)
